How do i find out what software my blackberry bold 9700 has?

My blakcberry is nuked or whatever. It is stuck on the loading screen and i need to find out what software it is in order to sort it out but how do i find out?

It doesn't matter which OS is installed at this point.

You will need Desktop Manager to reinstall the OS if you don't have it get it here:

Go here to download the latest OS from your provider to your computer:

http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Double click the file you downloaded to install it on your computer

Plug your phone into your computer

Open Desktop Manager

Click Device - Update

Check the box next to the OS you just installed

Click Install

I have a blackberry bold 9700 on orange UK, i want to update the software to OS 6, but i havent a clue what to do? ive checking for updates and its saying just os 5 is only available, i need help please. hope someone can help me cause this phone is about to be smashed off the wall!

Using a leaked or unofficial release is not a good idea if you like your phone to function properly.
