Questions About Blackberry White Screen Fix

Maria asks…

help me fix a blackberry pearl white screen!?

Ok so here is all the details.. i was wiping the screen off on my jeans. i guess the motion of the trackball back and forth messed up the screen.. it went all trippy then whited out.. i have taken out the battery and put it back in nothing is working.. i have dropped it but i was fine i dont know if maybe this is a late effect? i bought the phone off of ebay from a respectable dealer but it didnt come with the software disc so i dont know whats up with the deleting trick. anyhow im a teenage girl, our phones are our world.. i am really upset that its doing this. please help me

admin answers:

You can try to remove the battery AND the sim card for a minute and put it back in. If that doesn't work you can download the desktop manager which will allow you to reload your software onto your blackberry. If you are uncomfortable doing the last option call your provider instead you dont want your phone to be in a worse state then its in now.

Sharon asks…

how can i fix the white screen on my blackberry bold 9780?

PLEASE HELP

admin answers:

It's possible that its just updating so just give it time. If it doesn't go away then try taking it to your providers store and see if they'll look at it.

Paul asks…

My Blackberry Curve 8330's screen went completely white, how do I fix it?

Everything was all normal until I got a text message so i checked my phone and it's completely white except for one stripe across it in the center. Everything's working fine, my phone is still blinking red since i have 3 texts, but i just cant see anything but a white screen.

admin answers:

It could be a few things, but kind of sounds like you may have liquid damage to your phone. That is a common problem when phones get a little liquid damage (does not have to be a lot of water... Even steam from a shower if you had it in the bathroom). If you take the battery out of the phone there should be a liquid indicator to let you know if the liquid reached that part of the phone... The indicator would be pink or red instead of white (one on the battery as well). You would be best to take it in & let a technician take a look.

Thomas asks…

my blackberry curve 8330s screen keeps turning white and other colors do you know how i could fix it?

I've had a blackberry for little over 7 months now, and constantly out of no where, the screen turns different colors, and stays like that for a period of time and slowly comes back. Does anyone know how i can fix it? Please help.

admin answers:

Take it back & get a new one. Blackberries suck, they have so many glitches. I know this because i have one too. Just take it back, tell them your problem & they'll probably give you a new one.

Donald asks…

I dropped my blackberry curve, and now there's a white screen. How do i fix it??!!?

admin answers:

Take the battery out for 30 minutes then replace and see if it will re-boot, if not you could try connecting to pc and re-loading the software.

Questions About Blackberry Themes Download

Daniel asks…

What is the best website to download blackberry themes off you phone browser?

admin answers:

I have this one i use just make sure your file is .AXL file extension then you can add this using desktop manager.

Donna asks…

How can I download themes for my blackberry?

I have the blackberry curve 8300 and I want a new theme but i dont have the option to download it on my phone to do it. How can i get themes so its charged to my account?

admin answers:

I think you should have internet access or data plan to download or install themes. But if you don't have data plan just make sure your file is .AXL extension. Then you can add this using desktop manager.

Linda asks…

How do you download themes to your blackberry from your computer?

I have an account on www.themes4bb.com and i saved the themes that i wanted onto my computer but i dont know how to download them in to my blackberry. Plese help, somebody.

admin answers:

If you have them saved to your desktop then you need the blackberry software installed on your computer. Connect your blackberry via USB cord and then run the BB desktop software. Then once you have it up then click add...go and find the bb theme you downloaded - you have to go to the file with the alx extension.....select it and then it will appear on the menu to download onto the phone. Do this for each respective theme. If you have cod or another extension those will have to be downloaded in another fashion. There is also where you can download via OTA (over the air) where if you have internet access from your phone (data plan) you can go to the website and locate the OTA link for the theme then you can download it directly to the phone and it will install from online.

Paul asks…

does anyone know where i can make/download blackberry themes?

i would like to make my own but i dunno how. please help. or is thee a website can download them for free.

admin answers:

Mobile 9 is the best

Sharon asks…

How do you download themes from your computer onto your blackberry?

i was trying to download a theme onto my blackberry curve and i didn't understand how to do it?

admin answers:

When downloading a theme to your blackberry you should do it over the air. That means accessing the download link through your blackberry browser.

Make sure you are selecting the theme that is for your model of blackberry as themes built for another model will not work properly on yours. (ie pearl themes will not display on the curve even though you can download them to your device with no problem)

In order to turn on your theme you simply go to Options > Theme > select the them you want from the list presented and click on it.

Your screen may flash briefly and when you go back to your home screen you will see the new design.

If you have to download the theme to your pc first you can drag and drop your theme into a folder on your memory card or internal memory.

Simply plug in your blackbery to your pc via usb cable. Enable mass storage mode on your blackberry when prompted and then drag and drop as regular.

Once the theme is on your blackberry you can navigate to that folder on your blackberry (after unplugging from the pc) and click on the .jad file. It will take you to a download screen and prompt you to continue.

Your theme will now be on your blackberry - turn it on using the same method described above.

Here is a great post with links to hundreds of free themes for your curve:

Questions About Blackberry Os 7 Download

Robert asks…

Fatal error downloading new Blackberry OS on my Storm?

I currently have version 4.7.0.148 and I am trying to download the new 5.0 version, but it keeps saying that a fatal error has occured, please try again. I've tried this 3 or 4 different times and it keeps doing the same thing. What can I do to fix this.

Any help is gratly appreciated.

admin answers:

See if you installing it correctly:

Thomas asks…

Blackberry OS?? Help??

So, In October I downloaded OS 5.0 and I love it and all but I can't stand the SMS threading, the "emoticons" are really annoying and ever since then I've been trying to go back to OS 4.7.99? I can't find it any where. Between BB site and Verizons they make it IMPOSSIBLE.

** I have Blackberry Storm 9530 (The original Storm)
If you find it, Ill give you MAX points. Just have to make sure I can download it and you have to tell me how to give you the MAX points for answering?

admin answers:

You can down grade your os....... But with the original storm, it isnt a verry good idea. The last os for the storm was only slightly better than the original os that came on the device. If you have any problems with the device, then vzw will only tell you to upgrade.

All that aside, go to crackberry.com and search around a bit. You should be able to find it there.

Ken asks…

blackberry curve wont update?

i have a blackberry curve 8310 and want to update to the 4.5 os, i have downloaded the 4.7 desktop manager which i believe is the newest version, when it trys to update my phone it just says you are running the newest version available, but its not i am running the 4.3 WTF

admin answers:

Hello there,

If you are a former Suncom customer there will be no further software updates for your device via TMobile.

If that is not the case could you please tell me what your wireless carrier is?

You may have downloaded the wrong software for your device, and your best bet is to use internet explorer and visit the following website to perform the update directly from the BlackBerry Website.

Hope that helps!

Blackberry Storm Screen black, Need help!?

I have my BB about 7 months now and I only recently started to install themes and and apps and stuff, Anyway the other day I was charging it and it was fine, about a half hour later It was still charging but the screen was black, just wouldnt turn on. Its been almost a week and my phone screen is still black. The backlight works, the LED works, The sound works, And i can recieve texts and emails and calls, just I cant read any of them because of the screen, But the weirdest thing is that the other day I got a phone call and the screen kept turning on and off. then it stayed off again, I honestly do NOT think the screen is broken. Anyway,my Blackberry Desktop and my Device are both updated and I deleted almost all the apps I but on the phone, Except Facebook and Youtube which I didnt downloa they just came with the phone, But still nothing. I must add that I bought this phone on buyandsell.ie unlocked so I dont have any warrenty to bring it to get fixed. Does anyone know a solution? An OS I can download or maybe a Restore to Factory settings option? Thank a million :)

admin answers:

Hi.Try taking the battery out of the phone for awhile & sim card (if you have one). Then see if phone works. If it does not you can call warranty exchange to see if you are qualified to do warranty exchange.

Donald asks…

Blackberry Storm update on mac help?

Is there any way that i can get the new unofficial software that i downloaded from crackberry.com (v 4.7.0.132) on to my blackberry storm (9350) by using a mac? (OS X)

admin answers:

The problem is that the mac version of blackberry sync does not support upgrading firmware yet, the only way you can do it is over the air when an official firmware comes out. If I were you I would go out and buy a 100 dollar copy of xp and use bootcamp (free on the mac) to sync it (Windows 7 does not work, I do not know about Vista) (Worth it anyway). And No I am not some 12 year old kid telling you that you cannot do it, I have researched on google and tried some hacking but none seems to work. Good luck though

William asks…

-iOS
-Android
-Windows Phone 7
-Blackberry OS

Round to nearest thousand.

Thank you!

admin answers:

IOS- Over 500 thousand
Android- 250 Thousand
WP7- 10 Thousand or something like that
Blackberry- No idea.

Richard asks…

Is switch to Android from Blackberry a good idea?

Hello everyone.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 (T-Mobile). I've been waiting for the OS 6 to be release for the 9700. I can't wait any longer. I'm tired of my Blackberry. There are no apps that I appreciate having on my 9700. It's also isn't fun! No great games or anything. I do NOT want an unlock (jailbreak) iPhone. I'm looking on purchasing my first Android phone.

Please help me with the choice because I'm more of a Apple and RIM person. Not a Droid person. I would like to know which phone is the one for me. Only for T-MOBILE please! I'm a game person. I love to play games on my phone when I have the time. I also take a shit load of notes on my phone when I am in class. I also manage my life calender as well. And the one thing I do most on my phone is TEXT! It must have a QWERTY keyboard please. I would also want a good smoothing touchscreen as well. Thank you!

Oh yeah, what do you all think about the Windows 7 phone? Is that an okay phone to pick up? Also, I heard a core-duo phone is coming out next month. Should I wait for that phone?

Thank you so much for the people who are helping me. I appreciate it a lot. I believe it's time to move on with who I am with. Bye Blackberry!

admin answers:

Hey! I've had black berry bold and storm, they'e great for emails and school Plus work. Droid is cool, has pretty much the same but it does not have much on emails, calendars to sync.
Droid is a lot faster than blackberry phones.
I recently switched droid for iphone wit verizon. I need iphone for face time to communicate with the deaf. Liked the droid alot than blackberry cause of apps and I'm almost done with college -don't need blackberry anymore (windows, emails, calendars -etc).
Yes droid has calendar but it does not do well with me synchronizing calendar.
Not hurt to try the droid! Apps are way more than blackberry - i had few apps that are free from blackberry so droid is a big wow. However, iphone is WOW!

Mandy asks…

I am looking at getting a smartphone, which of the 4 main platforms should i get?

I am thinking about getting my first smartphone in June or July (as i don't have the money yet and wanna see what iPhone 5 has to offer).

Right now I am mostly wondering about operating systems, and I will decide later on which phone.

I like to text, so I would like the SMS app to be pretty good. My current quick messaging phone has a rather bad SMS app where messages take forever to send, you cant go onto something else while it sends, if someone sends something to you while you send your message never finishes sending, etc. Another thing that really bugs me about my current phone is while eI am typing a text to someone, if I receive a text it will pop-up and interrupt my writing. This can be a pain when trying to talk to a few people at once.

So basically I want a platform that has a really good SMS application. I like how the newer blackberry OS handles it, with the convo view, sending in the background, and getting a notification at the bottom (i think) that doesn't interfere with your typing. I understand windows phone 7 is supposed to be pretty good for SMS too.

SMS isn't all I want from my smartphone, I also would like to get apps and browse the internet, use gps and so on. That is one reason I don't really like blackberry is because it doesn't have very many apps and seems to lack some functionality that iPhone and android have.

Windows phone 7 seems cool but I heard that the code behind it isn't good and that it might get slow. I was afraid of this because, after all, its made by Microsoft. Plus since it is new, it doesn't have many apps yet and probably has more bugs then other Smartphone.

I like the iPhone, I don't have one but I have an iPod touch and know people with iPhones. I like how it has lots of apps, good browser, and a lot of features. I don't know if I like how the text messages pop up while you are doing stuff tho, I could see that being a bit annoying if you are trying to play a game or even just write another text. I also like how if you get an iPhone it will probably last for a while as they don't really seem to look as out dated as other phones might after a few years. I don't like how it doesn't have a replaceable battery though, I think that is stupid and a waste of a perfectly good phone when the battery turns bad.

I am not sure about android really, since ive never really used it. I expect it to soon have more apps then the iPhone as it is selling more and it is much easier to get an app on the android market then it is to get one on the app store. I like how you can change the battery and everything, and how you can customize the phone a lot and add cool features. I am worried about it getting slow or having bad battery life though. I also don't like how some phones don't get the most recent updates and how carriers can load it up with adds and crapware. I don't really know much about texting on an android other then you can get special apps for it which probably means I could find one that does texting just the way I want. But again, I don't really know much about android.

Thanks so much in advance for helping e with this, I just wanna know which OS you think I sould get and why.

admin answers:

Definitely get an iPhone.
I have a BlackBerry Torch 9800 and it's really good, and I've had the Bold 9000 and Bold 9700 too.
BlackBerry's are indeed great but really nothing compares to the iPhone. It has so many great apps that BlackBerry's don't. They're just so much better. I really want an iPhone! Get one!

Maria asks…

Blackberry Curve 8310 Batterry Life?

My BB's battery only last around 7-10 minutes and i cant use flash or anything bluetooth is of all apps are off and when i use it it dies and i have to plug it in and charge for it to turn on and when the os starts up it I have all the bars

admin answers:

Odds are is your battery is dead. Depending on how long you've had the phone and how many times your charged it. The batteries just ware out after a lot of charges and they can't seem to hold a charge anymore. Just go to ebay.com and you can pick one up for around $6 plus shipping. Just look at the battery and it will say the serial number and the model on it. Then just search that on ebay and they should come up.
