Questions About Blackberry Torch 2 Verizon

Sandra asks…

Can i unlock Torch and use with Verizon Storm 2 sim?

Hey people,
I have the Blackberry Storm 2 with Verizon and a friend of mine has the at&t Torch, and we were wondering if both of us unlock our phones, can i use his Torch with my Verizon sim card, and can he use my Storm2 with his at&t sim card.
Thanx :]

admin answers:

No. Your Verizon sim does not get Verizon service. It's there so you can access GSM service outside the US. Verizon will not allow non-Verizon-branded phones to be activated on its network.

On the other hand, if unlocked, your Storm 2 can be used with an AT&T sim.

Mark asks…

What Verizon phone should I get?

my upgrade is in december/january. what phone should i get for verizon? i want a QWERTY keyboard and 3G. I was thinking either the DROID 2 or the BlackBerry Bold. which of those should i get? no doubt if an iPhone for Verizon comes out i will get that or if the BlackBerry Torch comes out.

admin answers:

I'd take a palm.
When palm sold, like ALL the mobile companies (well, not all, but loads) tried to buy it, including Apple, Blackberry (i think) and others. HP won, though. Clearly, blackberry were not so happy - they just made a phone, the blackberry torch that pretty much copies the pre, one of palm's phones)
The Pixi and Pre are, i am guessing the best to own, both QWERTY and touchscreen. I think Palm has a non touchscreen, (the treo? Not that sure). If they don't have 3G they have WiFi, either way there is internet. Which is very nice. All those who own the Pre (nearly!) say they simply adore it and would never, ever go back - some have complained about the poor battery, however palm conqered the fear with a touchstone charger - a nice, portable dock that charges your phone.
I recommend Palm.

Steven asks…

Why is Verizon the best?

Hi!
I currently have MetroPCS and I want to convince my parents to switch to Verizon.
What can I tell them to make them say yes?
Why is Verizon the best?
The only reason we have MetroPCS is because there are no contracts, but the phones suck.
If I do end up getting Verizon, which phone is the best?
These are the qualities needed-
- Touch screen
- Slide out QWERTY keyboard (not like the blackberry torch)
- Web
- High Tech
- Not more than $100 with the 2 year contract
Guys, I didn't ask for you to disagree with me.....
LG Ally
or
Motorola Devour????

admin answers:

Couple of reasons: The coverage in the area where you live may be better on Verizon than on Metro PCS. Secondly, Metro PCS is a regional carrier where Verizon is a national carrier when traveling around the country you'll get hit with roaming fees where that you'll won't get with Verizon.

Daniel asks…

BLACKBERRY QUESTIONS!?

ok my aunty just got a blackberry torch and she wanted me to put her favorite song, bruno mars just the way you are, on as her ringtone. i sent the mp3 file via bluetooth via my iMac but i have no clue how to set it as ringtone. and how do u know if it is fake. IF SHE'D ONLY GET THE IPHONE!!!!! and can the torch use 2 sim cards cuz she wants to know if it is fake. looks real to me. it all started when i told her the best phone to get was an iPhone. so she went out and got one ( NOT FROM APPLE OR VERIZON ) and it turned out to be a fake iphone MADE IN CHINA not ASSEMBLED IN CHINA. so i guess she got angry and bought the torch. it doesn't even have a proper touchscreen its like a touchpad unlike Ipod touch, Iphone, Ipad, Ipod nano.

admin answers:

Kk

Robert asks…

Verizon upgrade, which would be best?

I'm deciding between the LG Revolution, Blackberry Torch, HTC Trophy. The Revolution is 4 1/2 stars. The Blackberry is 5 starts and the Trophy is also 4 1/2 stars. I'm buying off of the internet so the Trophy has a $100 discount, but the others are just the 2 year upgrade. What would you guys recommend and why? thankks :)

Questions About Blackberry Or Iphone 5

Mandy asks…

BlackBerry or iPhone 5?

Should I buy an iPhone 5 or a BlackBerry? Social Networking, Music, and Gaming are the areas I look for the most in a phone. Its true the iPhone excells on all 3 but the BlackBerry is incomparable in the Social Networking part.
Any ideas which one to own?

admin answers:

IPhone 5 isn't actually out yet but if you mean iPhone 4 then, well it depends what you will use it for!

If you will use it for work then Blackberry is best as it is easy to access your email on and easy to text as it has a qwerty keyboard.

If you will use your phone for fun/games then IPHONE is best. I have never had and iPhone but my dad has one and I have an iPod touch. They are really fun but I find using a qwerty keyboard is easier.
Hope you enjoy whichever phone you use :D

Mark asks…

Blackberry or Iphone 5?

I'm going to get a new cellphone. I have Iphone 3... just wondering what phone is better

a blackberry or an Iphone 5 and why?

admin answers:

Well The IPhone 5 Hasnt Been Released Yet But If Your Getting A Phone Before It Does Release Ask The Store Person To See If You Can Kinda Look At The IPhone 4 And The Blackberry To See Which One You Like Best ! :)

Michael asks…

Blackberry or iPhone 5?

My parents are finally letting me get a phone! :D The only problem is...I can't choose between the Blackberry or the iPhone 5 that's coming out in September. Any advice? Thanks.

admin answers:

I would go with the iPhone 5. Blackberries are more geared toward working people. IPhones are a lot better for teens and the like because they have a lot of games and multimedia features.

Plus, from an industry standpoint, RIM reign as the king of the smartphone is pretty much over. Android based phones and iPhones are the future (I guess you could consider Windows phone 7 too).

I would say buy either the iPhone 5 when it comes out, or a comparable Android powered device. Personally, I have an iPhone 4 and am going to get the iPhone 5 when it comes out too. Blackberries are outdated and won't be popular, except as possibly still for businesses because they are easier because they are used to them.

Betty asks…

iPhone 5 Or Blackberry?

I have a blackberry at the moment, but i'm starting to get sick of it, and the iphone5 is comming out in a couple of days so i was just wondering which is a better make or phone iPhone or blackberry? ,Thanks:)
Actually where i live it's coming out in a couple of days

admin answers:

You's be stupid to chose a blackberry. IPhone 5 all the way. The only people who prefer Blackberry's are people who have never owned an iPhone

Joseph asks…

Iphone 5 or Blackberry?

So my phone contract end in June of this year. But now there trying to say that the Iphone 5 is not coming out till Sept. I can't wait that long. Is the iphone 5 better to wait for it or should I just get the blackberry

admin answers:

Depends what you need the Iphone 5 for. The Iphone 5 will have a better camera. But with the blackberrys i find it easier to text on, Email ect. But again with the Iphone, It has an Ipod, Camera,Facetime ect. Whatever suits your needs;)

Questions About Blackberry Torch 2 Price

Carol asks…

If you know a lot about Blackberry's answer this :) ?

Hey, Well, Im let's say very young, and have a blackberry, i have the pearl, Does it ever happen to you or is it common that it gets stuck every like 2 hours? and to restart it I have to take the battery out and restart which takes like 5 minutes ? and also, I need all blackberry prices .. every single one , torch, NEW BB pearl (with trackpad etc.) , new curve, etc. :) (for at&t) Thankss (: I need helpp.

admin answers:

For prices: google. Lazy.

Daniel asks…

If a new line is added to a family plan do you only have to pay the 2-year contract price for the phone at&t?

My uncle has a family plan he said I can get added onto and I want to get the blackberry torch. Will I only have to pay the 199.99 +tax and fees?

admin answers:

Yeap when you add another line to a family plan. The extra line will cost 9.99 a month on top of the monthly rate plan. All the minutes will be shared between the lines for the month. For the extra line the person will need to purchase the cell phone at the discounted price, in this case Blackberry Tourch, for 199.99 plus taxes and fees at the moment of activation. Your monthly plan with all the lines and fees will be mailed to you each month for the bill.

Thomas asks…

Iphone 3GS or blackberry torch 9800?

Hi,

Well for Christmas, My mums buying me a new mobile, and I have a choice between the iphone 3gs or the Blackberry torch 9800. I would have bought the iphone 4, but I got it for Christmas in 2010. and since then it was stolen. I do really really like the blackberry, but the app store on it is terrible!, and I know that the iphone 3gs is more or less the iphone 4, just without facetime ( which I never even once used) and that's the screens better on the iphone 4, I know as well that the new IOS 5 is available on the Iphone 3gs. But on the other hand, the blackberry torch has the qwerty keyboard, and if the price is cheap enough in the UK, i might be able to stretch to the blackberry torch 9810 with it's 1.2 GHz processor and it's OS7. camera isn't an issue to me, I never really use cameras on mobiles, and 4g isn't available in the UK....... So what's you opinion?

admin answers:

Go for the blackberry torch way better!! Best phone ever! And the screen on all i products is crap it will brake first time you drop it its not worth the massive bill for the repair!
Xx

Donald asks…

I was wondering, if a bought a Blackberry Torch, do i HAVE to get a data plan with it?

Can you just continue your old plan, (since my old plan does not have data charges), since i can get a 2 year upgrade price for the phone

admin answers:

You do not get the upgrade price without signing a new 2 year contract. AT&T requires a data plan with all smart phones and it's required regardless of where you buy the phone. If you do the upgrade, your new contract will include a data plan. If you choose to buy the phone elsewhere, a data plan will be added to your account as soon as the network detects you're using a smart phone.

David asks…

Do you think AT&T will let me upgrade my phone 2 months early?

I got my iphone stolen from my bag @ Universal Studios last summer, and ever since i've been using the LG shine that my mom had...over 3 years ago. So it's been 'malfunctioning' a lot (black screen, shuts off itself, discolored lines pop up on the screen, no signal 75% of the time) and was thinking maybe i could upgrade now even though my 2 year contract ends on October 26. Do you think i could get a new phone, thinking about a Blackberry Torch, for the upgrade price?

admin answers:

I think they have a fee that it costs.. Probably a little more than what your bills would be if you continued using your current phone for two more months, for example. Lets say you pay $30/moth.. You'd probably have to pay 70-$80 for your contract to be up

William asks…

-iOS
-Android
-Windows Phone 7
-Blackberry OS

Round to nearest thousand.

Thank you!

admin answers:

IOS- Over 500 thousand
Android- 250 Thousand
WP7- 10 Thousand or something like that
Blackberry- No idea.

Richard asks…

Is switch to Android from Blackberry a good idea?

Hello everyone.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 (T-Mobile). I've been waiting for the OS 6 to be release for the 9700. I can't wait any longer. I'm tired of my Blackberry. There are no apps that I appreciate having on my 9700. It's also isn't fun! No great games or anything. I do NOT want an unlock (jailbreak) iPhone. I'm looking on purchasing my first Android phone.

Please help me with the choice because I'm more of a Apple and RIM person. Not a Droid person. I would like to know which phone is the one for me. Only for T-MOBILE please! I'm a game person. I love to play games on my phone when I have the time. I also take a shit load of notes on my phone when I am in class. I also manage my life calender as well. And the one thing I do most on my phone is TEXT! It must have a QWERTY keyboard please. I would also want a good smoothing touchscreen as well. Thank you!

Oh yeah, what do you all think about the Windows 7 phone? Is that an okay phone to pick up? Also, I heard a core-duo phone is coming out next month. Should I wait for that phone?

Thank you so much for the people who are helping me. I appreciate it a lot. I believe it's time to move on with who I am with. Bye Blackberry!

admin answers:

Hey! I've had black berry bold and storm, they'e great for emails and school Plus work. Droid is cool, has pretty much the same but it does not have much on emails, calendars to sync.
Droid is a lot faster than blackberry phones.
I recently switched droid for iphone wit verizon. I need iphone for face time to communicate with the deaf. Liked the droid alot than blackberry cause of apps and I'm almost done with college -don't need blackberry anymore (windows, emails, calendars -etc).
Yes droid has calendar but it does not do well with me synchronizing calendar.
Not hurt to try the droid! Apps are way more than blackberry - i had few apps that are free from blackberry so droid is a big wow. However, iphone is WOW!

Mandy asks…

I am looking at getting a smartphone, which of the 4 main platforms should i get?

I am thinking about getting my first smartphone in June or July (as i don't have the money yet and wanna see what iPhone 5 has to offer).

Right now I am mostly wondering about operating systems, and I will decide later on which phone.

I like to text, so I would like the SMS app to be pretty good. My current quick messaging phone has a rather bad SMS app where messages take forever to send, you cant go onto something else while it sends, if someone sends something to you while you send your message never finishes sending, etc. Another thing that really bugs me about my current phone is while eI am typing a text to someone, if I receive a text it will pop-up and interrupt my writing. This can be a pain when trying to talk to a few people at once.

So basically I want a platform that has a really good SMS application. I like how the newer blackberry OS handles it, with the convo view, sending in the background, and getting a notification at the bottom (i think) that doesn't interfere with your typing. I understand windows phone 7 is supposed to be pretty good for SMS too.

SMS isn't all I want from my smartphone, I also would like to get apps and browse the internet, use gps and so on. That is one reason I don't really like blackberry is because it doesn't have very many apps and seems to lack some functionality that iPhone and android have.

Windows phone 7 seems cool but I heard that the code behind it isn't good and that it might get slow. I was afraid of this because, after all, its made by Microsoft. Plus since it is new, it doesn't have many apps yet and probably has more bugs then other Smartphone.

I like the iPhone, I don't have one but I have an iPod touch and know people with iPhones. I like how it has lots of apps, good browser, and a lot of features. I don't know if I like how the text messages pop up while you are doing stuff tho, I could see that being a bit annoying if you are trying to play a game or even just write another text. I also like how if you get an iPhone it will probably last for a while as they don't really seem to look as out dated as other phones might after a few years. I don't like how it doesn't have a replaceable battery though, I think that is stupid and a waste of a perfectly good phone when the battery turns bad.

I am not sure about android really, since ive never really used it. I expect it to soon have more apps then the iPhone as it is selling more and it is much easier to get an app on the android market then it is to get one on the app store. I like how you can change the battery and everything, and how you can customize the phone a lot and add cool features. I am worried about it getting slow or having bad battery life though. I also don't like how some phones don't get the most recent updates and how carriers can load it up with adds and crapware. I don't really know much about texting on an android other then you can get special apps for it which probably means I could find one that does texting just the way I want. But again, I don't really know much about android.

Thanks so much in advance for helping e with this, I just wanna know which OS you think I sould get and why.

admin answers:

Definitely get an iPhone.
I have a BlackBerry Torch 9800 and it's really good, and I've had the Bold 9000 and Bold 9700 too.
BlackBerry's are indeed great but really nothing compares to the iPhone. It has so many great apps that BlackBerry's don't. They're just so much better. I really want an iPhone! Get one!

Maria asks…

Blackberry Curve 8310 Batterry Life?

My BB's battery only last around 7-10 minutes and i cant use flash or anything bluetooth is of all apps are off and when i use it it dies and i have to plug it in and charge for it to turn on and when the os starts up it I have all the bars

admin answers:

Odds are is your battery is dead. Depending on how long you've had the phone and how many times your charged it. The batteries just ware out after a lot of charges and they can't seem to hold a charge anymore. Just go to ebay.com and you can pick one up for around $6 plus shipping. Just look at the battery and it will say the serial number and the model on it. Then just search that on ebay and they should come up.

Questions About Blackberry Bold 9900 Vs Iphone 4

Mark asks…

BlackBerry Bold 9900 vs iPhone 4?

I currently have the iPhone 4, but now with the release of the BB Bold 9900, I am thinking of switching to that. Should I, or should I keep my iPhone? Please do not suggest any other phones to me!!!

admin answers:

Blackberry's are going down in popularity so future support is a real question. I would not even consider one.

Sandra asks…

Blackberry bold 9900 vs IPhone 4?

Which one should I get? My contract just ended and it's time to get a new phone. I'm not planning on waiting for the iPhone 5. I already have and iPod touch, but it's really old.. *the 2nd gen* it still works but.. I've heard of a lot of problems with blackberrys not sending messages or bbm.. Please tell me which one I should get.
No biases please.

admin answers:

It really depends on what you want out of the phone. In my opinion the IPhone 4 is hands down the best phone for multimedia out there. Great for music, videos (facetime!), pictures and apps galore(to many apps to count). While the Blackberry is the most secure and business friendly phone on the market. It has the best QWERTY keyboard ever put on a phone and the best email interface period. So if your always taking pictures, listening to music, playing games, or just overall really into mainstream stuff, then the I Phone is for you. If your into security, productivity, real keyboards or just a borderline compulsive email checker then Blackberry may be the right one for you.

Donna asks…

iPhone 4 vs. BlackBerry Bold 9900?

admin answers:

Definitely iPhone 4 but I would suggest you to wait till next month, iPhone 5 is coming !!

William asks…

IPhone 4 vs I Phone 4s vs Blackberry Bold 9900?

i want a phone that's good for web browsing games and movies/ tv shows i know that the iphone is great for Gaming but i don't know if i want to get a 4s when a 5 is coming out soon

admin answers:

To be completely honest, you should either wait for the 5 to come out or just buy the 4. I am speaking from experience when I say that you will not like it, if web browsing and movies and TV shows are your main concerns.

In the case of blackberry, you cannot access the app store without a data plan (EVEN if you have WIFI), it does not allow for much customization, sites with a lot of content seem to load slower in comparison to the iphone, the screen is small (allowing less room for watching videos).

The iphone on the other hand while having it's share of cons is better suited for your needs. The screen is bigger, you can jailbreak it(if it's your cup of tea), you can use wifi to access the app store, web pages load on par to computer browsers, comes preloaded with youtube, very easy interface and comes with built in hard drive. While it might take time to convert your videos and TV shows to be view-able on your iphone (unless you plan to buy), it's still easy as you can also download an app that does the work for you through itunes.

Questions About Blackberry Bold 9780

Mandy asks…

What phone would you recommend: iphone 4 or blackberry bold 9780?

I like the blackberry bold 9780 as a lot of my friends have bb's and use bbm. I also like the menu and the QWERTY keyboard. This phone is also good for browsing the internet, however it has a smallish size screen.

Another option is the iphone 4. This phone has a massive screen, however it is touch. The app store on the iphone is amazing also.
My main priority is internet browsing and texting.

and also texting is really fast

Sandy asks…

How much would it cost to unlock a Blackberry Bold 9780?

My contract is on vodafone, but I want a blackberry bold 9780 instead of my curve that i got with my contract so i was going to get a bold on ebay, however I was just wondering how much it would cost to have it unlocked as getting a phone on a specific network is sort of a pain.

admin answers:

You can get the unlock code through online..........give your IMEI number and get the unlock code for ur mobile…. I will suggest the website http://www.Unlock-Zone.com which is doing good service .....you can approach this website.
This site is nearly perfect and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums. I used them to unlock my cell phone. Contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.
Hope this helps.
