appears with a red cross through it , ive tried everything on the internet and nothing seems to work.Ive read its to do with the battery connection but im not sure. i would be ever so grateful for any solutions ??

Mean the battery is either very dead, or is not making good contact with the contacts in the phone.

Try a different battery and if the new battery works, it's the old battery that is the problem.

Things to try first.

Take the battery out of the phone.

Clean the metal (gold colored contacts on the battery and inside the phone, with a CLEAN pencil eraser.

Replace battery and charge phone for 1 hour (DO NOT CHECK TO SEE IF IT IS WORKING), if phone does start charging, allow to FULLY charge before using phone.

If the above does not work, replace battery with a new one. If new battery does not work it's the phone or the charging port in the phone that is the problem.

i turned it off to save a bit of battery earlier on and it wouldn't turn back on afterwards, ive just stuck it on charge, tried to turn it on, the red light is staying on, but nothing on the screen, wont even turn on. Please help?

The battery is either broken or really dead. Mine did that all the time, just leave it plugged in. Blackberry's are like that. Sometimes for 3+ hours. But I'm certain there is nothing wrong with your phone. If that trick doesn't work, get a new battery(:

Take out the battery to disconnect it, then put it back , sometimes electrical things reset themselves when you do this.

blackberry curve wont turn on but red light is flashing?

I've had my blackberry curve since November and has proven to be alright up until now.
it has turned off on me before but usually re-boots itself after 5-10mins.
but this morning it had a full battery and then suddenly turned off. i put it onto charge and left it, when i looked at it again it was still dead but the red LED light was flashing.
It has been dead for about 3 hours now.
what can i do? is there any way to restart it?
help needed!

First take battery out and sim card and leave for 15mins, then replace and see if it re-boots, if not download the blackberry desktop to pc. Www.blackberry.com/desktopsoftware. Then connect your phone to pc with usb lead, when all connected, click on updates on the panel that will come up on your pc screen. Before i forget it will backup your phone, install update then restore data to phone, be patient as this can all take around an hour.

In love with the blackberry series. I had the pear before I got the curve and have to say its great. The internet is speedy, great service, awesome messaging features, and very user friendly. I have to say the only downfall to most of the blackberry phones is the trackball can break and when that happens your shit out of luck for lack of a better term. Good luck and try to go through Verizon.

i need a new phone. i own a small business think a smart phone would help. i am also looking at the pearl. what would you guys recomend?

things that hold me back:

how good is the organizer? i would like it to be the thing that keeps my business organized for my rental business. ( when leases are up, etc.)
it seems a bit big.
lastly the keys seem so small.

overall i need to justify spending the extra money on the phone up front and the extra money per month for email. i have two computers and a lap top already so is the phone going to be redundant?)

any insight would really help me out.

I have the red one
and i loooove it. Even just for a student to have all the number and info that it lets you have about each contact is so useful and i get service everywhere
the organizer is really good. It give you an alarm if needed and you can have your appointments for the day on your homne screen
the keys seem small at first but after a day of playing with it its easy peasy lemon squeezy lol
for email. I pay 30 a month for unlimited email and internet you can get al your media on there, music videos and pictures theres GPS and maps i have an spp on there for free 411 and the weather network it has a password keeper which is incredebly useful and there pretty durable. The camera is great. You can email on it theres balck berry email and your regular email and your emails just show up in your inbox as well (where your texts go) its big but theres bigger if your not a fan of big go for the pearl but i've heard that its not that great
i love the size of the curve its really comfortable. Anything else you need to knoe feel free to email me :)

i'm getting a new phone next week and i'm determined to get the blackberry curve 8330 for verizon? i've been reading about it online, and so far i've only seen one BAD review on it out of all the ones i've read. i was also playing around with it, and i like it's set up.
if you have this phone, please tell me if it's worth getting. if it's good quality, or bad quality. and its pros and cons, eh?

Cons- not long battery life, tends to freeze at points

I would say go for the HTC EVO Shift 4G just because the Blackberry software is very outdated compared to that of Android and iOS. I mean I love the design of the Blackberry Torch 9850 and it has better specs (1.2GHZ processor vs 800Mhz, 8MP camera vs 5MP, 8GB internal storage vs 2GB internal storage), the Blackberry operating system will definitely make you very bored of the phone.

But I personally think you should go for the Samsung Epic Touch. It's from the Samsung Galaxy S2 lineup which currently features the King's of Android phones lineup on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint.

It has a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen (best touchscreen in the business), a dual core procoessor, 1GB of ram, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Its specs are the best of the best and you won't experience any lag with this phone. I believe it also has guerrilla glass, so it's very defensive against scratches.

But since you didn't ask for that, I would say go for the HTC EVO Shift definitely. Blackberry's are just too outdated (until January when they release the QNX operating system. Maybe they'll have a fighting chance then).

I can get the 9300 for $50 and a two year contract with Fido or the 9360 for $150 with Koodo Mobile, and have $150 put on my tab. I'm 15 so I won't be using it for any business stuff, just BBM and social networking and stuff. Is the 9360 worth the extra money? is there really that big of a difference between OS 6 and 7?

The curve is a great phone and i, personally, prefer it to the bold. If your on your phone constantly then definitely a blackberry. They are really easy to type on and much better than androids which are just very poor knock offs of the iphone software. The two other t mobile phones look quite chunky and not very appealing.

Well, depending on if you are a texter, you should get the Sidekick 4g for tmobile. My Friend has that phone and he said that he really likes it and it is easy to use. If you just want a touch screen any other phone is a good choice. Blackberry's are more for older people but if you like them then get it.
