Questions About Blackberry Curve 9300 T Mobile

Thomas asks…

Do BlackBerry Curve 9300 give you cancer?

I just got a Smoky Violet BlackBerry Curve 9300 (T-Mobile) phone. I've done some research but I have mixed feelings about this phone when it comes to health. I love this phone so far but still don't know if it is a good phone "healthwise"?

admin answers:

All phones can give you cancer if you use them like literally 24/7. It's really not something to be worried about.

Mandy asks…

What mobile phone shall i buy, HTC Wildfire S, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Samsung Galaxy W or Blackberry Curve 9300?

I'm getting a new mobile phone for Christmas and i have a choice of them four phones, but i can't decide! I think so far i leaning towards the Samsung Galaxy W, but i don't know enough about any of the phones, so can you please tell me your experiences with any of the four phone and which you think is best? Thankyou :)

admin answers:

I would say either the Samsung Galaxy W or Blackberry Curve 9300 because with both of these phones are very high on technology.. So those would be my fist choices, but if you like the Samsung Galaxy W a bit more i would say go for it! If you don't know enough about it, go on google and you should find a lot of info. Hope that kinda helps..

Lizzie asks…

Blackberry Curve 9300 vs Motorola Charm?

Ok so I am getting a phone for my birthday and i want to know if i should get the Motorola Charm or the Blackberry Curve 9300. They are both definitely coming to T-Mobile USA later this month. I text a lot and do a lot of social networking.

admin answers:

Curve

Lisa asks…

i bought a blackberry curve 9300 today but it wont let me log into facebook! plz help!?

when i tried to log into facebook on my new blackberry 9300 it says
'you are currently on a service plan that does not support this application, please connect to a wifi network or contact your service provider to upgrade your data plan'

If it helps, i am with T-Mobile.

please help me!

admin answers:

That means you don't have a data plan. Which means you don't have internet connection. If you call T-Mobile they can upgrade your service to a data package. Also, if you already have a data package, put the phone in airplane mode, turn it off, then turn it back on and take it out of airplane mode... Maybe that will help. Good Luck! :)

David asks…

Questions About Blackberry Curve 9330 Battery

Joseph asks…

Why does my brand new Blackberry Curve 9330 battery only hold it's charge for about 2 hours?

It is only one week old and has never been used before. I'm not understanding why it wont hold its battery. By about 3:00pm it will be dying, when I need it to be charged until the end of the day. I only use it for texting and seldom for phone calls. Any answers for this problem? Thanks!!

admin answers:

Sounds like you have a defective battery or BB. Since it's only a week old, you should be able to return it to the store. This is not normal.

Robert asks…

Does notification from facebook or bbm affect battery life? on blackberry curve 9330?

admin answers:

No

Linda asks…

i have a verizon blackberry curve 9330?

can a verizon blackberry curve 8330 battery fit in my phone?

admin answers:

Both phones use a 1150 mAh battery so the answer is yes.

Helen asks…

Question for about Blackberry Curve 9330 and Facebook.?

I wanted to know if there is a way for me to put all my contacts from my Facebook onto my Blackberry Curve 9330. I also don't have the Facebook application downloaded, I just use the internet so my battery doesn't run out as fast.

admin answers:

You have to download the application

Paul asks…

Convince me: iPhone 4S or Blackberry Curve 9330?

I currently have a Blackberry Curve 9330 and I have the chance to switch over to an iPhone 4S. Long story short, I can't decide.

I use my phone for e-mail (it's one of my lifelines and a must), texting, and as a camera, but I also carry my iTouch with me where ever I go, for music, apps, etc.

My Blackberry is 2 months old and battery doesn't last me anywhere close to 3/4 of the day (that's without even sending one text! - I've switched the battery twice already) and I need something with good battery life. Not to mention that the phone freezes any time I try to use Twitter or Facebook.

I'm thinking iPhone because of the awesome camera, music, and apps - plus it's my phone and iPod in one. My only reservations are the touch screen (that's easy to get use to), it's e-mail (I've heard mixed feelings), and if it's to fragile - I'm clumsy.

So convince me! Thanks!

admin answers:

The iPhone 4S 100%

I switched from BB to iPhone and am never going back! I had the curve also

iPhone is honestly much better for email than blackberry with the new updates. Blackberry is a bit too... Restricted.

IPhone has the best camera and it's great with texting (if you get over the no-buttons thing...)

If siri isn't enough to convince you... Think about the difference between the Apple app store and the BB app world store. BB isn't even close to the selections that apple has. And there are SO MANY free apps out there! And many paid/full apps go on sale which you can get apps to tellyou when apps are on sale so you can even get paid apps for free on certain days (mainly on black friday and other holidays)

I mainly got the iphone cuz it combined my old ipod touch and phone (BB curve) in one and it's just a LOT easier

Its not as fragile as it seems. I mean it's made of a lot of glass but you should be fine with a case and the screen doesn't scratch so often so you don't really need a screen protector too. My only complaint is that the battery life isn't all that awesome but it does last the whole day depending on if you aren't using up all your phone non stop. There are also many ways to save battery (like dimming the screen backlight and remembering to quit from the apps running in the background).

Questions About Blackberry Bold 9700 Battery

Ken asks…

Is the battery life of the Blackberry Bold 9700 any good?

I've been considering getting a Blackberry since my old phone is dying out, but I've heard blackberys have bad battery life, is this true?

And on the new ones, how is the trackpad?

Also, quick note: Bold or Curve? Which one is better.

admin answers:

1. The bold is much better, they're still updating its details, so it's going to improve even more.
2. Most likely, the only reason why the battery life sucks is because of the backlight brightness, if you're going to get this phone, be sure to turn the brightness down, having it too high will make your battery life go down even quicker.
3. The trackpad is GREAT, it's better than the trackball, only because the trackball is more likely of getting dirty and stuck.

Overall, this phone is great. I have it and I love it.

Laura asks…

How do you take out the battery of a blackberry bold 9700?

i just got mine today and i can't take out the battery.., not the battery door, but the ACTUAL battery

admin answers:

Put your fingernail at the bottom of the battery and pull up.

Mary asks…

How to extend battery life on my new blackberry bold 9700 ?

Well this is a brand new phone purchased on Oct 3rd . Please help me because I need to learn some tips and tricks. Btw I bbm and text a lot and also use my email and facebook and oh make phonecalls. I have downloaded pandora , tumblr, beejive and munch screen . Please anyone tell me what I can do it would really help .

admin answers:

Don't delete your apps, but clear the cache or whatever it's called.

Sandra asks…

where can i get top keyboard and battery cover for BlackBerry Bold 9700?

durable, attractive, good price.

admin answers:

I saw it on this site:
http://www.trait-tech.com/catalog/BlackBerry_Accessories/wholesale-BlackBerry-Bold-9700-Accessories/
Maybe can help you.

Maria asks…

About to break my blackberry bold 9700, how the HELL do you open the battery cover?

Questions About Blackberry Tablet Vs Ipad

Linda asks…

iPad 2 vs. Droid Tablet vs. HP Touchpad vs. Blackberry Playbook?

Okay, so, I'm thinking about getting either an iPad 2, a Droid Tablet, a HP Touchpad, or a Blackberry Playbook. But I don't really know much about the tablet, touchpad, or playbook. So if any of you have one or have used more than one of them, tell me which you prefer. Or if you know about any of them maybe do similarities and differences, or Pros and Cons on one of them.

admin answers:

You should youtube it. That's how I end up picking up the motorola xoom.

No regrets.

Lisa asks…

Apple iPad 2 vs. BlackBerry Playbook?

Hi... So I'm really stupid when it comes to computers/laptops/cameras... anything technical like that :P I have had a BlackBerry for 3 months and I am still trying to figure it out :P aha
anyways... I want a Tablet... Im saving up slowly and I have half... my rents said theyd give me $200.00 if I give my sister My old Laptop/Netbook thing..

so my qquestion is which Tablet should I get?
iPad 2 or the playback?

I have an iPod... and I buy ALL of my music/Digital movies from Apple iTurnes

But like I said before I also have a BlackBerry (bold 9780)

so what would you reccomend for me?

here are my questions...

1. which has more space....?
2. which one has better drawing Programs... I know iTunes has a great one that I used on my uncles Ipad...
3. My basic needs are Y!A, Facebook, eMails, Sketching and other arts (like Uploading photos to it and stuff...) Also I will be using it to watch online TV and Movies :P like from megavideo and vidx and stuff... Other thent hat just picture storage (maybe like 100 pics at a time?) and thats it :P
Im not really an APP person... I dont use APPs on my BB and I got rid of my iPod Touch because It was too small to hold all of my music/photos and video... on my ipad or playback I will not download music or video to it tthough... But I do want to stream them...

So which one do you think is better for my needs?

Also does the Playback have skype?

BlackBerry Playback

http://ca.blackberry.com/playbook-tablet/

iPad 2
http://www.apple.com/ipad/

The ipad is soo much more attrative to be honest... thats a definite plus :P

admin answers:

In your situation I would go with the iPad 2 because of the drawing apps and that it has the bigger screen for multimedia playback. Also the GarageBand and iMovie apps seem to be a real plus in this situation. Good luck on your purchase!

Robert asks…

Motorola xoom vs ipad vs blackberry playbook?

I'm wanting to get a tablet pc. I think the motorola is really cool but I dont have verizon. I would like to know If there coming out with a wifi only version. The blackberry seems cool to but it's screen doesn't seem big enough. Now the iPads ok but I think they will announce a new one by the end of January because that's when they announced the first one. If they do it will have cameras and be alot better. I would like to know which one you would get and which you like best?

admin answers:

Defiantly the Blackberry Playbook.
It looks amazing.
Could you take a minute to look at these videos?

Mandy asks…

iPad 2 vs Blackberry Playbook vs Motorola Xoom vs Samsung Galaxy 3G?

Which of these tablets are the best in terms of performance, graphics, gaming, surfing the web and other qualities that are worth mentioning....

admin answers:

Ipad 2!!!!!!!!!!

Richard asks…

Should I get Blackberry Phone or Playbook tablet?

I have about $ 500 extra cash to spend for a gift to myself.
I am using Android Phone of somekind currently.
But I want a blackberry experience.

I don't mind having two phones, one for my work
and my Android for casual use ,
since there are alot of apps that I use for fun + entertainment.

I am deciding wether to get a Blackberry Phone (9700 or Torch )
vs.
Upcoming Playbook tablet pc.

What would be the good choice?

I just want to own at least one blackberry product lol

Is tablet PC enough to complement my Xp running Netbook?

PS. No Ipad please

admin answers:

The blackberry playbook will make your netbook running xp look like a piece of sh#t. I'm not trying to offend your netbook, I'm just trying to show you how powerful the playbook is. It has dual core 1 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM, which combined offers the best multitasking on the market. It has a rear 5mp camera, capable of recording in FULL HD 1080p, and then playing it on a tv with the hdmi port. It has all the access to the blackberry app store as well as the android market place, providing you with more than 225 000 apps. It also has flash 10.1 and html 5 so you get to see the full version of every website, not stripped down mobile versions. What more can I say. I %100 suggest you get yourself a blackberry playbook when it comes out on April 19 (now taking preorder). It is the best tablet on the market. I already pre ordered mines! Hope you get it!

Carol asks…

i upgraded to 4.5 os on my tmobile blackberry curve and i had major problems. ?

my question is, after i updated my files, i'm missing my text message/multimedia message icon. how do i get it back?

admin answers:

If you downloaded a beta then that is the problem. Google orange uk blackberry 8320 os 4.5 and get a real os. I have no issues.

Donald asks…

where can i get the new version software for the blackberry curve ?

where can i get the new version software 4.5 OS for the blackberry curve 8320 for tmobile?is it even out yet?if not when will it be released?where can i get the software update thanks.

admin answers:

There is a 4.5 operating system (OS) out for the 8320 model, but T-Mobile hasn't released one. It doesn't really matter, though, because you can install any wireless carrier's OS on your 8320 as long as it is made for the 8320.

There is a 4.5 OS for the 8320 here:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8300-series-discussion-curve/140528-latest-os-8320-4-5-0-75-4-5-0-52-multilanguage.html

Laura asks…

Im having problems with my Blackberry pearl?

None of the Internet applications on my blackberry pearl are working, such as the GPS, yahoo go(package), gmail, facebook, or google maps (I already have internet and it works). My OS is alread updated and im running a v4.2.1.107 (platform 2.3.0.83). My blackberry is new (a week old) and its tmobile.

For facebook it says "there was a problem contacting facebook.
For google maps it never finishes loading on startup.
For Google mail it never finishes loading as well.
and
For GPS do i have 2 buy something to work it.
o and all my browser settings are set to default. Thanx in advance

admin answers:

You should try refreshing your service books or backing up your device to your computer and doing a handheld wipe. Have you tried contacting TMobile tech support?

Donna asks…

Blackberry troubles...?

My Blackberry curve 8330 has just deleted all of my contacts. Luckily they're still saved on my computer (I have a Macbook with OS 10.4.11), and so I just tried to sync all of my contacts back onto my phone and it won't let me (a warning keeps coming up that says "skipping"). I tried to enter them all by hand, but it won't save any that I've entered by hand either. I've been needing to do a software update for a while now and haven't been able to because you can't on a mac (I keep meaning to borrow one of my friend's PC's but haven't gotten around to it). Do I just need to update the software for this problem to go away or is there something else I can do? I just did a battery pull and am going to see if that gets me anywhere. And my carrier is TMobile, if that makes a difference. Thanks!
And now it won't sync. It comes in and out of syncing, although it charges with the wall charger just fine, so I think it's the USB cable that's having issues.

admin answers:

I say update the BB's operating system to OS 4.5 and make sure you download the latest mac sync software: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/mac.jsp

Betty asks…

I want to cancel my contract with tmobile.. But no ETF!?

Honestly, this phone is giving me a heart attack.

The service where I live is very good. Verizon phones have it. AT&T phones have it. Any type of phone carrier- has it. Except my phone. Because I constantly lose service, even in my own home.

They discontinued my phone, to make room for all the newer blackberries coming in. That way, there are no available updates for my phone. So whatever glitches I have on my phone-- well, most of them being solved by downloading a NEW OS-- WHICH TMO DOESN'T GIVE OUT FOR DOWNLOADING CONSIDERING THEY DISCONTINUED MY 8900, I can't fix. I live with a shitty blackberry, go figure. I don't want to download a "leaked" one, because I'm afraid I might brick it. And then pay 300 for a new 8900 because the warranty sticker fell off the back of my bb because my back cover fell off.

The quality of my phone is garbage. My boyfriend has the 9700 which came out way after mine did. His was made in Canada, and has admirable quality. Whereas mine was made in Mexico-- and is completely plastic.

The bills too! We never had a bill that ever stayed consistent. Basically my dad and I have the unlimited plan which is about 99.95, but he doesn't have texting or internet enabled on his BB like I do. The internet for my BB is about 34.95. That's pretty much what it should come out to, nearly 135. "Taxes" brings it up to 180. Or some days 320. Or other days 520.

Not to mention, I was in Europe the other month. And I requested for them to send me my code to unlock my phone. I'm back in the US, and I still haven't gotten it. I really needed a phone to work back then so it was important that I called for that code. She said she would take it up to the guys at the "sim department" and yet I NEVER got an email saying so.

Do you think these are somewhat valid reasons for me to cancel it. I'm a tad bit frustrated at the moment so excuse my "venting". But my dad has been dying to cancel this contract. And so am I. We want to switch from TMO to AT&T. Without the early termination fee.

Any suggestions?

admin answers:

Nope, you wont be able to do it. The only reason that they would allow it would be if they couldnt provide you with service where you live. But as you said, your service is very good. You agreed to the ETF when you signed the contract- that's how it works..

PS. I would NOT choose ATT as the company I'd switch to.. Horrible network...

Questions About Blackberry Torch Review

Sandy asks…

Blackberry torch review?

I have the iphone 3 and im interested in getting a blackberry torch, but ive heard lots of bad reviews but i was wondering if i should or not, as i dont like my iphone

admin answers:

There are four models / types of blackberry torch.
Here below are links to reviews for all types / models. :)

Susan asks…

which phone should i choose? (review of htc cha cha and blackberry torch)?

my mum is upgrading her phone which is a blackberry curve, and shes going to keep it and give me her upgraded phone. but i dont no whether to choose a htc cha cha, or a blackberry torch. any one who has used one of these please comment, and tell me what you think of them.

admin answers:

Torch.

1. She already knows how to use a BlackBerry.
2. The Torch is a much more reliable model.
3. The Torch is a much more polished model.
4. The Cha Cha has a horrible keyboard, and Facebook is more robust on BlackBerry, anyway.

Sandra asks…

Blackberry torch 9860 reviews please?

I have read mixed reviews but i really like the look of it, i have always been put off blackberrys because of the buttons but now this is an all touch screen i really like the look of it. Please can you give opinions on it. Thank you

admin answers:

Here it is side by side with the BlackBerry Bold 9900 ( just for a comparative view) as you can see the only significant difference is that it doesn't have NFC (payment) and only 2.5Gb internal. It has been reviewed. Http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3116&idPhone2=3926
I thought RIM would be naming just their 'sliders' as TORCH

Mark asks…

Is the blackberry torch a good phone ?

I need to pick between a bold , curve , and torch . I want to get the torch , but I need a review on its pros and cons .

admin answers:

I personally have owned all 3 phones currently the Torch. I love it! The touch screen is a plus. Its very easy to use and super fun. The Torch takes AMAZING photos. Especially outdoors when you change to the landscape setting. Facebook is cool. There are quite a few free games for it. It is also just as indestructable as the other bbs. Mine is torn to shreds (I'm very clumsy) and it runs just as good as the day I bought it. And for being a touch screen my screen is stronger than the others. It runs very fast. Images on the screen are beautiful. Youtube plays beautifully.
Cons- a lot of what you can do on the old bb you have to download an app for it. Like the multiple alarms. Certain message settings.hmn.
Every bb is a pain sometimes but this phone is really cool and I love it. Plus it has a bunch of storage and is a lot easier to work then the other bb and you can customize it in so many ways. It has a bunch of awesome apps and a bunch of cool ones for keeping you and your life together.
I say go for the Torch!

Richard asks…

BlackBerry Torch 9860 reviews?

I'm due an upgrade and thinking about getting this phone. Has anyone got it? What's it like, pros & cons?

Questions About Blackberry Verizon 9930

Lisa asks…

How to unlock verizon Blackberry bold 9930 mms and browser to tmobile, AT&T ?

I have a verizon bold 9930 and want to unlock to switch to tmobile or at&t but I want to make sure the browser and mms also work..may also use it on other gsm networks overseas as I travel alot.

admin answers:

To get the full factory unlock code, you can goto http://www.ProMobileMotion.com & within minutes you will have the full unlock code, which means not only will you be unlocking the phone but your Browser, MMS, & FaceBook, ect will all function properly. :)

BEWARE of people offering free or ridiculousley cheap unlock codes, half those sites are scams, I wasted $ and time and messed up my phone before I found a legitimate website.

Jenny asks…

Can the blackberry bold 9930 for verizon open pdf files?

So i got the new blackberry bold 9930 for verizon and i got an email and tried opening a pdf - but it said it couldn't open an attachment

On my old blackberry, I was able to..

So does the new one not have that capability? Why?

And is the only way for me to open up pdfs by downloading a pdf reader app?

Thanks!

admin answers:

Yes, you do need an app for it. Try adobe reader. If that doesnt work then just search for a pdf reader

William asks…

Unlocking verizon BlackBerry Bold 9930 mms and browser for Tmobile, At&t?

Getting the BlackBerry Bold 9930 form verizon and I will be using it for either Tmobile or ATT, I know the phone can be unlocked, but I want to make sure also my mms picture messaging and browser work, where can I get the unlock code?

admin answers:

You can get all you need from http://www.ProMobileMotion.com , this will include your unlock code to get voice & text to work on At&t or Tmobile you will get the code with the mms picture messaging & internet browser.

I pretty much did a search a few months back & found this info on Tmobile website as well as here on yahoo answers. Good Luck, i was very happy with their service by the way & will always recommend them on here!

Sharon asks…

Can I buy the Blackberry Bold 9930 from Verizon Wireless without a contract?

My friend is going to the US this week and its still a while until the phone gets released in my country so I wanted to ask whether or not I can buy it from Verizon without a contract since I'm not familiar with these things. Thank you in advance.

admin answers:

Absolutely, you can buy it from Verizon store without contract paying the full retail. But, it's CDMA version which means it won't take any SIM and it's not a world phone. So it might not work in your country. What you need is the GSM version which is unlocked and will take SIM. If you need Blackberry Bold 9930 factory-unlocked GSM version cheaper, you can mail me to manchurianp@yahoo.com

Maria asks…

Verizon contract blackberry 9930 phone help?

i found a new blackberry 9930 phone on ebay that is selling for $180. it says it needs a contract, it says "Add lines or New lines" but i am just replacing my old phone. If i still buy it and put in the barcode to replace my phone on the verizon website, will this phone work?

PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

admin answers:

When you purchase used phones on EBay they do not required a contract when activating on your account.

Please keep in mind that you can check the device ESN (Electronic serial number) online to confirm if it can be activated on your account before you purchase it.

Visit http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/estore/certifieddevice/cd to confirm if you can activate the BlackBerry 9930 you saw on EBay on your Verizon Wireless account.
