Hey, AA, neither of them is the best on the market in this class - Nook Tablet is. Double the RAM of Nook Tablet will definitely have a lot of performance impact when more than one app is open. Everyone who actually held Kindle Fire and Nook Tablet in their hands noted that Nook's screen is much better and brighter besides being laminated for reduced glare (not on Kindle or iPad). Nook Tablet is $224 if sign up for Barnes & Noble membership. 16 GB Nook's content capacity plus 32 GB via microSD card vs. 8 GB capacity of Kindle Fire with no expansion slot IS a big deal - and Cloud won't be available while traveling or where Wi-Fi is not available. Portable tablets are all about doing things on the go. Cloud is way overrated - good for an occasional backup but not for content usage on Wi-Fi-only tablet on the go. Reading 11.5 hours battery life and 9 hours of video playback time vs. 8 hours for reading and 7.5 hours of video playback on Kindle Fire. Also, Nook Tablet has physical volume controls on the side (not on Kindle) and built-in microphone (not on Kindle) for Skype.
More, Nooks (since Nook Color) are the darlings of the root'ing community especially because they have microSD slot (not on Kindle Fire or iPad) thus Nooks can be rooted by burning OS image on the microSD card and booting off it without rooting the actual device and voiding the warranty. On Kindle, once you rooted there's no coming back and the warranty is gone.
In addition, it appears all over the web now that many Kindle Fire units have faulty Wi-Fi and people have a lot of issues connecting to internet according to many user reviews. Amazon's own web site has hundreds of reviews of Kindle Fire's new owners that gave it 1 or 2 star reviews because of choppy/laggy experience they got from this underpowered device. All pro reviewers on the web notes that Nook Tablet is a much better device with superior performance compared to Kindle Fire

Sandra asks…

What is the best tablet/ereader?

Since today is black Friday there is a lot of good deals on tablets and ereaders. I have a list of some. I want a tablet that is easy on your eyes when reading, but you can still do other things on it like play games or listen to music. I don't want the tablet to be laggy either.
Amazon kindle fire
Pandigital 7" multimedia tablet
Kyros 4gb android tablet
Archos anova 10" 8gb
Pandigital 9" tablet 2gb
Cruz velocity micro cruz
Nook color
Kindle
leader i7 4gb
Sylvania 7" 2gb tablet
kobo ereader
Blackberry playbook 16gb
Acer iconia 7" tab
Nook simple touch
Kindle w/keyboard
Can you tell me which is the best from this list or some other tablet/ereader that is under $200.

I've never seen the Playbook, but for the price it's probably ok. My personal experiences with other Blackberry devices have been disappointing, however.

Donna asks…

Which of these devices should I get for my birthday?

iPhone 4 (16GB)

iPad 2 Wi-Fi (16GB)

Blackberry Playbook (16GB)

iPod Tough 4g (64GB)

Turning 17 years old on May 29th. I am ordering the device in 4 days so I will get it by the 30th. But, I don't know which device to get. Right now I have a Motorola Backflip and I don't have an iPod or tablet.

I will mainly want it for movies, facebook, twitter, skype, and Y!IM. Some music, photos, and few games.

This reminds me of the little boy on the play ground that has a problem socializing with the others, he does not play well with others, and he is struggling to find his place in the world, hell he is struggling to find his place in the playground and how he can fit in,

if your patient, and your very luck , and look into your self, you might find that place, and you might even find out who you are.

Good luck ;)
